It always makes me laugh when I see municipalities throwing money at laughable goals such as determining an official slogan. I guess Mayor Panto had some cash stashed in the back of one of the old city hall cabinets that got moved to the new building. I am willing to sell my suggestions pretty cheap. So how about "Easton, Mike Fleck was almost our mayor!" Or how about "Easton, we have just as much gunfire as Allentown." Of course, I can't pass up the chance to honor the great Mayor Sal Panto, so how about, "Easton, our mayor is not a crook!" Well, at least as far as we know.

The local news media never ceases to amaze me. I have begun to believe that the Mayor of Allentown is named Ed "he has not been charged or indicted " Pawlowski. But in the last few weeks, the local print media has given the "Mayor not indicted yet" several articles that portray him sympathetically. They even let him write an Op-ed about gun control legislation after the Florida night club terrorist attack. With all the previous indictments and guilty pleas that point to he who has not been indicted yet as the ringleader in charge of the Allentown pay to play game, if this mayor walks free, it will destroy any shred of justice for the common folks. I can't help but wonder who is behind this kindle, gentler, and sympathetic portrait painting of St. Ed. If Ed runs for a fourth term, it would not shock me if he were to win. Don't believe me? Hey, the Mayor of Washington D.C. got caught smoking crack on video and he got his job back. If he could do it, he who has not been indicted yet could do it too. I would bet on it.
